Marakoopa Cave, Mole Creek
(4.5/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Visit Marakoopa Cave to see the largest display of glowworms found in Australia. This wet cave, with four surface openings, is part of the Tasman Wilderness World Heritage Site, declared in 1996 in order to protect an extensive system of over 300 caverns and sinkholes featuring rare karst landforms. In addition to these unusual geological formations, at this cave you can also see two underground streams, rim pools, shawls, and flowstone features. Take a guided tour to explore a natural world teeming with underground creatures, which have evolved some very strange features in order to survive in their dark surroundings. Adventurers can also hike through the lush forests of the national park surrounding this cave.

  • Worth the trip to Marakoopa Cave.9 degrees inside the cave . Enjoy the tour with the very knowledgeable male guide. Unfortunately we were not allowed to use camera while viewing the glow worm in the dark. It was really an amazing sight. Looking up the ceiling was like looking at the stars in the sky.
  • Loved it. Great experience worth the cold. Glow worms are a cool site as well. 👍👍
  • Interesting. Can take advantage especially if it's a rainy day and spend some time visiting the caves. Nice tour with a well prepared guide.
  • Informative and insightful guide. Amazing formations. And pretty glow worms. Would recommend.
  • King Solomons Cave is 11 km away and it's much more fascinating but the park office for cave tickets is at Marakoopa Cave
