Yarra River, Melbourne

(4.3/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
By day, you can enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling up one side of Yarra River, through the parks and paved paths of Southbank Promenade. These paths lead visitors toward an impressive array of sports arenas, including the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rod Laver Centre, and the former Olympic stadium. On the Central Business District side of the river, you can stop at a bar or cafe before heading into the center of the city. At night, the cityscape visible from the riverside is bright and vibrant, and the views up and down the river from the higher floors of buildings, such as the harbor-side Hilton, are particularly notable. Put Yarra River into our Melbourne vacation builder to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Melbourne.

  • Is a pity because the color of the river is muddy colors, around the river or trail, river cruises the highways are crowded. I think good for exploring the sunny day.
