  • It is a Museum of opals and at the same time is a gallery / jewelry of precious stones "Opals", that they are all in the area of the interior of Australia. And there to sell them in the gallery. I met the two girls that I attended, and explained me everything what was the Museum and jewelry and they were very kind.

  • It all starts with a visit to the small museum that explains the history of the opal in English. Then the store with a huge selection. We have been advised by a very nice seller. He took his time despite our indecision and our "poor" English. Whatever the budget, we have a quality Opal. A year later, my opal is always wonderful and reminds me of great Australian memories.

  • When you visit the block arcade Melbourne's most famous tried we spotted the sign. Underground, so surprisingly overlooked by hotel to shops, rough Opal specimen was exhibited. There are many types, become a feast for the eyes.

  • Expensive and extensive range of opal. Classy setting. Rude and snobbish staff. Clearly not family friendly and hated children. Will not shop here again.
  • Rude staff, more interested in talking to each other than potential customers. I started a conversation with them and some other customers joined in, they obviously thought the others were more likely to buy something as I was completely disregarded and the other customers referred to as "future opal buyers" that presumably made me a "non opal buyer" despite the fact that I had gone out of my way to gather information from the rude staff. Pretentious staff and ugly jewelery.
  • Rude staff, weren't interested in helping and very opinionated. Wouldn't spend my money here.
  • Fun place to visit and find a quick gift. Prices are high. Not for serious opal buyers.
  • The gallery itself was under renovation when I visited which was very disappointing, however they had an amazing collection of jewellery. I did buy a pendant and I do love it however I don't think the chain was gold plated like the pendant and it was over priced over queen Victoria market. So advice: check for renovations and if buying check the chain quality

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
