  • Absolutely the best way to travel, drive on in Melbourne, drive off in Tassie, the Spirit staff are great, food's great, plenty on board to keep you occupied, just love, love, love it.
  • Small venue. Went for engagement party. Food was not too crash hot. Location was excellent. A fat lady wouldn't be able to fit in the toilet cubicle. House Sav Blanc tasted like $3 rubbish.
  • I have been there many a times and actually ended up renting an apartment in Docklands. When I first went there in february I was just amazed by the cool breeze , walking path and lots of people just ...  more »

  • Horrible. We booked the recliners on the way over, a night sail. They are advertised a a nice, cheap and comfortable way to sail. Worst night of my life. We and half the other people who booked them slept on the FLOOR. They have cameras watching people tossing and turning sleeping on the floor all night. Someone took our assigned seats. It was all in all a horrid experience. Not that Spirit really cares I think. At 5 am as soon as we thought we could stop trying to sleep and get up off the stinky, hard floor(still better than those recliners). We ventured around the ship and noticed people sleeping anywhere they could. Smartest guy I'd ever seen was tucked away in the soft, dark kids play area. I was jealous of that guy. Suddenly everything starts to look like a bed after the night we had, had. To anyone that goes on this ferry my advice is either fork out the crazy amount they want for a cabin or just do not get on this retched ship. Fly and hire a car or camper. I promise you'll enjoy it more. On our journey home we forked out that crazy amount for a cabin even though it was a day sail and glad we did as it was so busy on board. People lounged anywhere they can just to get a little comfort. Spirit of Tasmania was a horrible experience, you can definitely see that it's PUBLIC TRANSPORT!! I will drive my car across the ocean floor if I want to take it to Tasmania next time.
  • Its a great way to travel but it is very expensive...this is the main highway to Tassie! If Tassie wants tourists then the government should be assisting with the costs of fares and subsidising the costs to use this 'highway'. It would be great if there were some decent souveniers on the boat...the old Spirit had a terrific shop on board...always interesting to look through for last minute gifts...now theres nothing! The lounge bars are nice, the accomadation is nice.
  • Fantastic way to transport the car, Definitely worth experiencing the day crossing at least once. But if travelling more than once with several people consider sending all but one on a airplane. it will be much cheaper
  • The best start to a holiday by boarding Spirit of Tasmania
  • good place. port for sprit of tasmania
