  • Fascination is to say the least at viewing the wide variety of God-given divine underwater animals. A real education. Why did I rate this aquarium as being 'terrible'?? Because I was very sad to see t...  more »

  • Amazing place to be in with friends and family members, specially kids. One of the best tourist attractions in Melbourne. We took our wee boy there and he was just amazed for every second. He was surprised to see the giant crocodile and he was even more surprised to see that it's alive!!! What a great day for him!!! You will find a cafe with good foods and drinks. The price is quite reasonable. Please don't forget to take your camera. You will definitely enjoy it :)
  • Great variety of aquatic creatures with thrilling theme. All inhabitants flourish in their containment with no sign of abuse. The creatures in their main display tank was a breath taking experience. Certainly worth the money. I would recommend buying your tickets online as the queue can get quite long. Parking is available in the Wilson building opposite to sealife at a discounted price of $20.
  • GREAT PLACE TO TAKE KIDS FOR AN ADVENTURE The aquarium is right in the centre of town and has a huge range of marine life on display. Some massive tanks and a walkthrough tunnel where huge stingrays glide serenely over your head! Food outlet is OK. Large gift shop strategically located before exit has some worthwhile items but is a bit pricey. You could easily spend a few hours here
  • A great place to bring the kids with educational displays and wonderful creatures to see. The prices are expensive, but there are many ways to get discounted tickets, so Google before you go for options. Best section? The penguins at the end, which are fascinating to watch at feeding time! 5 stars if not for the prices.
  • Really enjoyed the penguins and the shark area. This aquarium is definitely geared towards kids and families. It was very busy when we went, so I would recommend not going during school holidays if you want some time to really read and enjoy the place.

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
