  • Great shops. Great and helpful staff. Morons taking walking selfies clog it up. Seriously... trust yourself to experience it and just KNOW that you enjoyed it. No shrouds have pockets inside.. so they say. It's difficult at first but with a lot of practice and a little luck... you too may become cool.
  • An arcade full of all sorts of interesting shops, including the timekeepers Gog and Magog, who do a little dance of some sort on the hour (which I've never seen, no matter how many times I've passed through)
  • Pretty globalist but a but of brissy flair as you finally move past all the flashy chain stores towards the water both ends. Nothing amazing but great to meet people for catch ups and shopping. Ok dining areas but lacking in variety.
  • lovely..lovely shops. .but here early and nothing is open. .would have spent money too..but had to leave
  • Beautiful building and interesting to see. Actually liked more bars around building

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
