Prahran Market, Melbourne

(4.3/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
It’s all about taste at historic Prahran Market, one of Melbourne’s finest and most popular fresh food markets. Located in the same location for over 125 years, the market features a number of trendy cafés and a variety of stalls and shops selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, and deli products. Known locally as "the food lover's market" because of the quality and range of foods on sale, the market also offers specialty and hard-to-find items, such as exotic cheeses, game, and heritage varieties of regional fruits and vegetables, grown by local farmers. This is the only market in the city with its own square, which often hosts cultural performances and includes a children’s playground. • Best quality produce and a fantastic range too. You don't shop here to save money. If you want the best come here, if you want cheap I doubt you could beat Dandenong market. Regular shopper at both
  • The best market in Melbourne. The quality of all the food is outstanding. None of the vendors disappoint, in our experience. A little more expensive but as the Italians say Come spendi, mangi. And I love their promotional activities too. I just wish we lived closer.
  • Quality market with great things to talk about.. Starting from the parking not bad for 2 Hours (only 2.5 dollars). Tuesday is a great day to visit with live music, some activities, more stalls, nice cafes to sit and have fun. I like the fact that this is a relaxed market. Love the Hungarian section too.. I recommend this market personally.. good one!
  • Wouldn't say they are competitive on price. Good range of fresh produce
  • If you're willing to pay more, this is the place to go for fresh goods! Very conveniently located between the major supermarkets in the area.
