Firm favourite kith the kids every time we are in the area. Milking the goats to feed the lambs the fresh milk, kids are allowed to have a go at it all. Kids absolutely love it.  more »

This place is quite possibly the most underrated place in outer south east Melbourne. The kids will have a brilliant time. Plenty of animals, many you can get close up and pat. The grounds staff are g...  more »

Great family experience, plenty for kids to do in a safe open environment. Lovely staff and really well run farm. Quality for money with small Cafe or byo and a playground for when the kids get bored of train and pony rides, petting bunnies and goats or simply for parent rest time!!

Wonderful experience! Great collection of birds and animals, nice community gardens, great cafe, fun play area for kids, barbeques, many picnic areas, many individual covered areas for parties, pony rides, train ride... Tickets are at a very reasonable price too. I wish they would also provide camel rides and horse rides for adults and extend their visiting hours (it's only 10am to 4pm)

Fantastic for kids parties. Good prices, friendly/helpful staff, good spaces and the reptile encounter was a massive hit at my sons birthday!

Nice enough place. Taking the 'train ride' to see hundreds of upside-down sleeping bats was really cool. But overall, this is a very unhappy place for the animals. Many animals are kept in tiny enclosures, mothers separated from children, and many look visibly forlorn. Baby chickens are separated from their mothers and kept in a tiny terrarium waiting to be sold like property. The poor pony stands alone all day tied to a post, waiting for someone to come and ride it along a short and narrow track. These animals still have better lives than most of those who end up on your plate, but that's not saying much.

Great for the kids to pet and see animals. A few options with the train and pony rides.

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
