Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Melbourne

4.7
Visit what is perhaps Australia's most hallowed sporting ground, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The 100,000-capacity venue plays host to matches of the city's cricket club and was the site of the 1992 Cricket World Cup final and the 1956 Olympic Games. Massive music concerts attract noncricket fans. Join one of numerous daily tours and then visit the National Sports Museum, home to Australian sports memorabilia. Of course, for a truly memorable experience, attend a match among the cricket-mad faithful. • Watch the popular football in Australia for the visit. In Melbourne at the Melbourne cricket ground on the belting hard Stadium and the football game here, we went to see a game at the cricket ground. Cricket Stadium in the NFL to the befuddled, but Geelong was a very popular game with a lot of Collins's man really. Major League outings were a hot dog is a necessity when you watch the NFL pie and beer here is a necessity.

  • Sport museum has library a must see of memorabilia. Great stadium for Aussie rules football day and night. Summer time cricket great too. Food can be pricey however. Iconic venue.
  • A magnificent world class venue to watch sport. The food and drink service is excellent. Transport to get here is so easy via tram or train .
  • Iconic cricket stadium, steeped in history. I did the tour & the guide was knowledgeable & helpful. Much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Couldn't get there when there was an AFL game on.
  • It's great to be in a corporate box and parked underneath. Slightly shocking with the traffic - you'll need to allow at least, an extra 30 mins to an hour to get there on time. Food is amazing and their staff is well trained! A GREAT Place to enjoy a love game!
  • Great atmosphere. Got into the ground fairly quick for 95,000 people. Women's toilet queue extremely long. Good stock of grog even in the 4th quarter. TAB onsite.

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
