2.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web
Built in 1912, Luna Park Melbourne is Melbourne's historic amusement park located on the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay. This vintage park was the first of its kind built in Australia and has been operating almost continuously since opening a century ago. The site's main features include the iconic "Mr. Moon" face entry and flanking towers, and the Scenic Railway, which is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. You can also drop by the park's more modern attractions, such as the Crazy Coaster roller coaster, the Spider, Ferris wheel, and several other thrill rides popular with kids. • Iconic Melbourne landmark and location. Fun day out for a family or young couple. The scenic railway should not be missed. A decent day out here will cost you though, but worth it.
  • Came with friends who had children of varying ages. Was a little disappointed in that not all the rides were open (there'd been some rain). You buy ticket vouchers and then exchange them for rides. Th...  read more »
  • Our young family Had a great time (yrs 9&7). We purchased a family ticket and this kept us busy. It was a very windy day when we went and at least 1/2 the rides were closed so we got a small discount ...  read more »
  • Really great fun. Haven't been since I was a young kid and the whole experience was excellent. Staff were safety minded and friendly. The rides are pretty good although we couldn't go on the roller coaster due to high winds at the time. Good fun for the family.
  • Great place for families, not for the thrill seekers. If you're a six flags addict then this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a family fun filled day the Luna Park Melbourne is the place for you! You have free entry to come and go as you please which means you can explore not only the park but also beautiful St Kilda, with lunch options around the corner on Acland street you're spoil for choice! I recommend exploring St Kilda for lunch or bring your own because Luna Park (Like most theme parks) don't have the best food, and its not cheap! The park itself is timeless and feels like a great piece of Melbourne history. All in all, I'd recommend a visit to anyone visiting Melbourne.
  • Visited off peak during winter hols, no queues and all but one ride was open. Day pass is definitely cheaper in the long run. 'Family' tickets only cover 4 people, my family is 5, but the person in the sales booth mentioned if anyone has a myki card we can get a 10% discount! Plenty of safer rides for the not so brave, some really good ones as well if you like spinning upside down with negative g's pulling you out of your seat! The 100+ year old wooden track rollercoaster is a must. All round, a fun day out for the family.
  • Lots of fun for the kids for a day out in Melbourne. If you go on the weekend expect to wait for the popular rides, but midweek it's great to just sit back and watch the kids have fun. Very good value if you buy a membership and live close enough to get a group of kids together for the day.
  • Rides are all good except the Ghost House train which is not even scary. The Ghost House Train has lots of hype and it disappointed me. The rest are really good.
