Luna Park Melbourne, Melbourne
(2.7/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Built in 1912, Luna Park Melbourne is Melbourne's historic amusement park located on the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay. This vintage park was the first of its kind built in Australia and has been operating almost continuously since opening a century ago. The site's main features include the iconic "Mr. Moon" face entry and flanking towers, and the Scenic Railway, which is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. You can also drop by the park's more modern attractions, such as the Crazy Coaster roller coaster, the Spider, Ferris wheel, and several other thrill rides popular with kids. Make Luna Park Melbourne a centerpiece of your Melbourne vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Melbourne trip generator.

  • What's not to love about visiting this St Kilda landmark. It has all the usual rides for young and old. Ducks, ball throwing, donuts and candy floss. Great day out for kids! My 6 friends and I (in our...  more »
  • I went on the Halloween Night, we paid for the tickets. Such a small park and the roller coaster was in maintenance. Rude staff at the enterance and carousel. Not recommended.
  • If you want to be a kid again visit Luna Park and take a ride down memory lane, it is a bit scary though walking through that giant mouth, but great fun

  • SHAMEFUL handling of a disaster of an evening on Saturday night's Luna Dark event, Luna Park!!! Several people have tried to make complaints on your event page And your "admin panel" won't approve them because they're saying truthfully what a disgusting train wreck of a night it was. Total waste of nearly $200 for my family!! 1 hour & 15 minutes just to get IN to the park even though we arrived on time at 7pm. So overcrowded, you could barely move, we were like sardines! 1 hour 20 min wait for ONE ride & you were shutting down ride lines by 10pm!! Halloween is very special to me as an American and this is by far the worst Halloween celebration I have ever attended. My poor 8 yr old daughter was so disappointed, as were we. We requested a refund only to be told "too bad, no refunds - send an email if you have a complaint" at the ticket booth. You should be absolutely and utterly ashamed by your behaviour as a company. We will tell everyone we can to never attend this event!
  • Really great fun. Haven't been since I was a young kid and the whole experience was excellent. Staff were safety minded and friendly. The rides are pretty good although we couldn't go on the roller coaster due to high winds at the time. Good fun for the family.
  • Incredibly disappointing. I get to the ticket box today (27/9/16) only to be told the Scenic Railway is not operating, no news of this on their website when I checked it prior to taking my 5 kids on a 1 hr drive to battle parking and while the day starts out with great weather, it howls rain from midday onwards, why the park management waits until 11 am to open is unreal, why not 9 am?
  • My son and I have yearly passes to Luna Park which at $110 each offer outstanding value. Although there are a limited number of rides we can get there at opening and still be rushing to cram in a last ride at closing. A great day out at an iconic Melbourne landmark!
  • Great place for families, not for the thrill seekers. If you're a six flags addict then this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a family fun filled day the Luna Park Melbourne is the place for you! You have free entry to come and go as you please which means you can explore not only the park but also beautiful St Kilda, with lunch options around the corner on Acland street you're spoil for choice! I recommend exploring St Kilda for lunch or bring your own because Luna Park (Like most theme parks) don't have the best food, and its not cheap! The park itself is timeless and feels like a great piece of Melbourne history. All in all, I'd recommend a visit to anyone visiting Melbourne.
