Federation Square, Melbourne

(4/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
More than a popular meeting spot in Melbourne, Federation Square serves as an entertainment destination in the heart of the city. Encompassing a city block, this plaza contains bars, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and plenty of shops. You can rent a bike here and ride around the city, or depart on a boat cruise from the nearby dock. Check out The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, holder of the world's biggest collection of Australian art. Of architectural note are the scalene-triangle sandstone building facades and ochre-colored sandstone blocks in the main square's paving. • Stands by its avant-garde design in a largely classical setting in the heart of the city, which generates views among its inhabitants. Without a doubt, it is worth visiting it.

  • This is a huge square located opposite the main train station, Flinders Street and a tram terminal. There is a tourist centre, public toilets, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and more. On special occasions such as the Grand Final there is a big screen which draws huge crowds to watch events live! It is a short walk to the river and St Paul's Cathedral. A great spot to visit!
  • An iconic and vibrant place next to the CBD and the Yarra River. Lots of cafes and restaurants and surrounded with art gallery and museums, lots to do.
  • Love that place becoz you can see what is happening and what people share their opinion. People are freedom, have right to say anything
  • Nice public space, lots of dining and a few arts options. Parking garage below. Free wifi is cool.
  • Big, modern, unique. Must see. Also close to other Melbourne highlights - Flinders station and St Paul's Cathedral.
