The Emporium is a top class shopping centre in the heart of Melbourne and is as good as it gets anywhere. There are some very good brands and some not that well known but worth a visit.  more »

An excellent shopping complex with bridges connecting many big department stores nearby such as Myer and David Jones. There is a very good food court with international choices. However, it may be a challenge to find a vacant table during lunch time. There are chairs along the bridges if you want to take a break.

Built recently in 2014, this state of the art mall has all the ships and facilities a person can think of to make it truly a "one-stop shop". Brands scale from mainstream to luxury, providing an area where all people can purchase cosmetics and clothing. There are also multiple food courts in the mall offering different types of cuisine, such as Indian, Chinese, etc. I have been to a few of those restaurants, and they haven't let me down! Even though the area is very large, there are electronic interactive maps scatted throughout the mall, which makes it very convenient for a shopper like me. It has multiple functions, not only displaying a map, but you can also search a store, and it will display exactly the path needed to take in order to reach your destination. Very handy. It is also connected to David Jones and Myers, just in case you haven't finished your shopping frenzy. Don't forget to visit this place in the city.

Perfect place to visit on a cold, wet and dull day. Especially it is linked to Myer on one side and Melbourne Central on other. It provides great shopping experience. Food court has to be one of the best in the City with variety of cuisines available. Love it!

Situated between Melbourne Central Railway station and Myers/David Jones, relatively new shopping centre providing a one stop shop for all your fashion needs. Big brand retailers and a great food court with diverse range of cuisines.

The mall has a lot to offer with some more affordable shops and as you go higher, you get more boutique / designer shops. It is easy to navigate and connects to melbourne central on one end and Myer and David Jones on the other. They also have a great food court area with a lot of selection!

Where to stay in Melbourne

The hub of tourist and commercial activity, the center of Melbourne remains the best place to stay if you're looking to splurge and enjoy every possible modern amenity during your visit. Travelers on a limited budget can search for cozy yet less expensive rooms in the seaside suburb of St Kilda or the bohemian neighborhood of Fitzroy. Though the city center offers more than a fair share of mid-range lodging options, you'll also find plenty of rooms in this price bracket in the quieter suburbs.
