We arrived to see lovely grounds and friendly staff. Had booked in for the tasting menu with accompanying wines. We did the group tour (about 8 people) around the grounds and we visited the caves with... read more »
Whilst Voyager Estate is a "must see" on any visitors list, be prepared to pay $3 per tasting. The surroundings and building are lovely but a little pretentious. Staff were friendly and polite.
This venue has beautiful gardens. You can go around it with your wines and order food to explore. The entrance is opulent and they do a fantastic non alcoholic wine. It's just outside of Margaret rive... read more »
We chose to eat in the highly rated Restaurant, and opted for the 3 course option. Entrée was slow cooked beef with carrot and miso puree with butter poached swiss brown mushrooms, bok choy, shiitake and jus. The meat was so tender that you could pull it apart with a fork, and the flavour was amazing. The butter poached mushrooms on their own had such a depth of flavour, but paired with the beef it was a party in my mouth. The bok choy added a freshness to the dish. Our main was grilled prawns, romanesco cauliflower, currants, curry puree and charred cauliflower, which was their special for the day. As expected after the entrée the prawns were grilled to perfection, with the charred cauliflower complimenting and the currants providing a contrasting texture and flavour. Dessert came out - Baked lemon curd, citrus salad, shortbread sable, yoghurt and thyme sorbet - which provided the perfect end to a fantastic meal. We discovered that the restaurant was inspired by a similar place in South Africa, which the owner decided to bring home with hm. The grounds of Voyager Estate reminded me of a manicured French estate, with well tended lawns, topiary hedges and long tapered walkways. Very elegant.
We live locally but, like many people that live near somewhere special, we only go when we have visitors. Today was our wedding anniversary so it was just the two of us. It couldn't possibly have been better. First the staff: so knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine. Full of advice but encouraging personal choice and preferences. Special request "no problem". A winery, so wine takes centre stage with a "flight" of 3 wines to complement each course. Waitstaff and sommelier balance information perfectly so it informs, but doesn't become a lecture. So, overall, one of the loveliest meals we have ever eaten in a beautiful environment with a perfect balance of food, wine, service and attention. A special day for us. Thank you.

Beautiful winery. Love the gardens and especially the rose garden. The main building is beautifully decorated. Restaurant is expensive but it's worth visiting. If you don't drink alcohol they have a great sparkling grape juice red and white.
We had probably our best meal here. Voyager Estate is also the most manicured vineyard I have been to.
Nice and elegant place. Just a bit overpriced if we consider the service, which does not meet the high standards you would expect. Food selection is acceptable and quality is ok (not bad, not extraordinary). Wine tasting is great.
