Learn about Australia's creatures of the deep at Manly Sea Life Sanctuary and how the center promotes conservation of marine life through rescue, breeding, and protecting. Observe a colony of penguins at Penguin Cove; watch sharks, rays, turtles, and tropical fish at Shark Harbour; and view seahorses, octopus, and lionfish at Underwater Sydney. The sanctuary puts on daily presentations about its conservation efforts and even gives you the opportunity to scuba dive with sharks. Children tend to enjoy the touch-pool, where they can pick up starfish and sea slugs. • Visited last month with my wife and toddler. The main tank has some beautiful sting rays, sharks and turtles to see. Their is also a number of other interesting tanks and the chance to dive with shark...  more »
  • $25 (or 20 if you previously online book or in the info get the manly guide incl vouchers) are sure to lots of money. But you cares which here about animals by boats or otherwise how were injured, there's the money already well spent. There are frequent feedings or tours where a lot is narrated and explained, questions are answered and generally much fouling the Bay received. It is the employees obviously serious about conservation. It is above all in the cellar at the sharks and rays much to see, you will not spend but rather much more than 1-2 hours. Unless you want to dive with sharks, that costs but extra ;)

  • Went for the first time this month and not worth the treck from the city, run down, old and smelly! Worst aquarium I have been to in Australia and not a surprise it is closing down in January. Staff a...  more »

  • Arrived just as seahorse feeding time started. Staff member friendly and provided lots of information. Kids loved listening and asking questions. Then made the shark tank tour which was also wonderful. Great to be so close to some beautiful but endangered species. It's a great shame it is going to be closed at the end of the year. Great afternoon out, can highly recommend if you have children. The dive with the nurse sharks is well worth it.
  • Manly Sea Life Aquarium is a great place to take a young family too, but it has been around for many years and is a little run down now, compared to the Darling Harbour Sanctuary. Manly feels more spacious, less busy but probably has less attractions than its DH counterpart. The underwater shark tank is still probably its biggest attraction. It's a shame its closing down at the end of the year.
  • Great for the kids. Took my 2 year old there, free for the little guy and $25 for me. The place is a little dated since i was a kid but the underwater tunnel blew his mind. Great to get him away from finding nemo and happy feet to see the real thing....
  • O my god what a time I have doing the dive with the sharks. The instructors were brilliant made me feel so relaxed before the drive and I was and still and buzzing from it. Highly recommended.
  • It's a bit small and hard to justify the admission cost but it was fine for us as we have a Merlin pass. Street parking can be terrible on a Saturday/public holidays but it's not too far from the ferry terminal. The penguin enclosure is pretty amazing and my kids had a wonderful (and memorable) time.
