Sea World Theme Park, Main Beach

(3.1/5 based on 4,000+ reviews on the web)
Not to be confused with the SeaWorld chain in the United States, Australia's Sea World Theme Park offers a mix of massive marine animal exhibits, dazzling shows, and thrilling rides. See how dolphins care for their young at the Dolphin Nursery Pool, observe penguins on land and underwater at Penguin Encounter, and get up close with sharks at Shark Bay. Polar Bear Shores serves as Australia's only polar-bear exhibit, and Ray Reef contains over 100 rays for you to feed. The seal show has an engaging storyline with both seals and humans acting it out. The rides area includes both thrilling roller coasters such as Sea Viper and children's adventure areas like Beach Break Bay. Using our custom trip planner, Main Beach attractions like Sea World Theme Park can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • We attended Sea World "Carnival" and it was awesome, the costumes and food was great! The rides we went on numerous times "Storm" and "Jet Rescue" which were awesome!
  • In less u want to be ripped off please go to sea world, all the adult type rides are closed only the kids rides are open the food is average at best and super expensive. There are positive the sharks ...  more »
  • I used to enjoy SeaWorld in the 80's and 90's as there was so much to do in between the shows and the animal enclosures. Now most rides have been closed or removed without replacement, or in the case ...  more »

  • Great family outing. The ticket and gate experience is typically inefficient for the Village theme parks. Food is expensive to buy (eg $55 for lunch for 4) and there are half hearted bag searches so plan ahead. Good mix of shows, exhibits and rides. We did the snorkeling activity which is an extra $60 each. You go into a tank of reef fish including timid sharks and rays. Great experience and made our day. Bring swimmers if you have kids as the pirate ship area will be a soaking experience. Bring enclosed shoes for the sky walk or it is $5 for shoe hire.
  • Fantastic day at SeaWorld! So much to see and do!... Don't get caught by the devious "magic winner" scratchie people. Cannot believe SeaWorld allows such blatant scamming to continue in their parks. That said, the events, rides and shows are spectacular! Very good day (and for an extra $40 I could have had a fully paid holiday to Vanuatu or a seafood dinner valued at $200, etc etc... For the cash up front payment of $40.. And I was the magical first for the day!!. How could I resist?) great park... Don't fall for the indoor scammers...
  • PEOPLE NEED TO CHECK WHAT THEY ARE REVIEWING. THIS IS SEA WORLD AUSTRALIA, NOT SEAWORLD ORLANDO. THERE ARE NO CAPTIVE ORCA/ KILLER WHALES KEPT AT THIS PARK. PEOPLE WHO KEEP GIVING NEGATIVE REVIEWS BECAUSE OF THE ORCA TREATMENT NEED TO GO GIVE THAT REVIEW ON THE CORRECT SITE, NOT THIS ONE.
  • Its ok, i went for my nieces birthday! I dont have kids and probibily would have never gone here without them. Only 3 rides aimed at adults and 1 of them closed. More for kids and families. The shows are good, minis the jet ski show....thats pants! Overall i think tje park is tired and i massive need of a face lift
  • There is nothing much to add about the theme park. Kids love whatever is there. Although the monorail had troubles couple times and the roller coaster got stuck at the top with few teens in it. Sea world resort is an average hotel accommodation. Staff are friendly, rooms are okay etc. It may sound obvious that everything is expensive including restaurants for which guests have to queue up due to low capacity. The nearest supermarkets or convenience stores are about 2km away. Meh! If you can find a nicer place nearby, better stay there.
