Sea World Theme Park, Main Beach

3.4
Not to be confused with the SeaWorld chain in the United States, Australia's Sea World Theme Park offers a mix of massive marine animal exhibits, dazzling shows, and thrilling rides. See how dolphins care for their young at the Dolphin Nursery Pool, observe penguins on land and underwater at Penguin Encounter, and get up close with sharks at Shark Bay. Polar Bear Shores serves as Australia's only polar-bear exhibit, and Ray Reef contains over 100 rays for you to feed. The seal show has an engaging storyline with both seals and humans acting it out. The rides area includes both thrilling roller coasters such as Sea Viper and children's adventure areas like Beach Break Bay. • We had so much fun at Sea World, it's a wonderful park to take your family to. We enjoyed the shows and the park itself, but we did not go on any of the rides because our son is only 2. The dolphin show is not to be missed. Take a towel and bathers for your little one as playing in the water is one of the most entertaining activities for them. If you go to Gold Coast with your toddler and have to choose between Movie World and Sea World I would definitely choose Sea World. I gave it 4 stars because the food you find in there is mostly junk food, there is not much choice for toddlers and when you are on a vacation you don't want them to eat junk food all day every day. This is not a problem at Sea World only, but because it is a place where you can spend most of the day and where so many families bring their children, I feel like there should be more healthy options. There are more ways to cook food and chips should not be the only side you can choose for a dish. Especially when Sea World wants to be an educational place as well.
  • From start to finish a fantastic experience. Short line to get in as we went in the afternoon on a Sunday. Polar Bears well looked after, patted a sting ray, met paw patrol characters and the underwater shark and coral reef experience was amazing. Up close and personal with a bull shark and turtles. Only negative was the 20min wait for the monorail but other than that the kids had a great day. Lots of rides with reasonable wait times for the little ones. Food and drink predicable in price (slightly higher than normal) simple solution.. pack your own lunch. Could not recommend highly enough.
  • One of my favorite theme park, it has got something for everybody. We took our 16 month old there and he loved watching penguins swimming around. There are also lots of fun rides for young kids too. I personally liked the storm coaster the most. It's a shame that no camera's allowed on the ride :)
  • Great family day out. Go early to avoid the queues. Rides are awesome and kid friendly for about 7 years olds and above. As to be expected the food is very expensive, 4 hot dogs are circa $60. The shows are great and recommend the jet ski stunt show as well as dolphin show. Parking is easy so long as you get there early enough. Take swimming clothes for the new wet play areas for the kids.
  • A fantastic day outing to this incredible venue. The animals were kept in pristine conditions, with staff that seemed to care and have good knowledge. They explain thoroughly the methods used to rescue, rehabilitate and accomodate for them as well as the ways we can assist. Very educational and a real eye-opener. Instead of forcing animals into confined spaces for perfect views, they allow the animals to have space and time to hide and be alone when necessary for their comfort. They also have a number of new exhibits in progress which I'd be excited to return once opened. Food prices were high as expected. The one major improvement I can suggest is staff properly enforcing mothers to park their prams in the designated spots during shows and large crowds. The amount of ignorant and rude mothers who sit in the disabled rows at the front and then get angry when people in wheelchairs need a seat is disgusting. All in all a fantastic day out
