Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / Queensland / Gold Coast / Main Beach / Sea World Theme Park
Not to be confused with the SeaWorld chain in the United States, Australia's Sea World Theme Park offers a mix of massive marine animal exhibits, dazzling shows, and thrilling rides. See how dolphins care for their young at the Dolphin Nursery Pool, observe penguins on land and underwater at Penguin Encounter, and get up close with sharks at Shark Bay. Polar Bear Shores serves as Australia's only polar-bear exhibit, and Ray Reef contains over 100 rays for you to feed. The seal show has an engaging storyline with both seals and humans acting it out. The rides area includes both thrilling roller coasters such as Sea Viper and children's adventure areas like Beach Break Bay. Amazing place to visit for the kids. A water park, rides and best of all the seal and dolphin shows which are not only entertaining but educational too, teaching kids and adults what we need to do better to help our marine life. Plus the marine life here is just so fantastic to see. Our whole family loved it!
We enjoyed the trip today. We have three small children and it was nice to see them enjoying the dolphins. They got a lot of value out of the shark area and underwater aquarium. In fact, it was my favourite area! However, we weren’t expecting to see Polarbears (missed that memo) and it was truly special to see them up close and personal. I felt the enclosure was really well thought through and a reasonable size for them. What a pleasure it was to watch them jumping in the water, swimming around and hiding a stick between rocks. For whatever reason we didn’t remember any of this last time we visited about two years ago but it left quite impression today. It was a bit disappointing that some of the rides were closed. We went there on a Sunday and found one or two things that we wanted to do closed such as the storm coaster. Luckily, we have a pass and will come back and do that again. I guess they have to do maintenance which I am grateful for but sucks when you miss out.
Had a wonderful day in the park as part of a SeaWorld resort winter deal with our family. All enjoyed the dolphin show, seal show(definitely aimed at kids) and rides. The Storm wasn’t open and neither was the Log Ride. Blaster boats were a hit but take spare clothes for that! Amazing to see so many fish and sharks too. Nice to hear about all the rescues and conservation work.
So awesome and fascinating to see beautiful ocean animals and the Polar Bears. The seal and dolphin shows were excellent. The penguins were wonderful to watch. The shark tank is amazing. All in all the perfect day out.
Plenty of animals to see, personally I mostly enjoyed the penguins and aquarium section. Few good shows on, though the seal show used to be so much better but it's still okay. Park layout is really spread out, wear comfy shoes and be prepared to spend a lot of your day here if you wanna see everything (there is a monorail that goes around the park, but found it's not going around quick enough). There's not a lot of sunshade there so it's a good idea to bring sunscreen along. You don't really come here for the rides but if you did, it's slim pickings. Your best bet is the Jet Coaster, good fun and wait times aren't too bad, but the ride is over very quickly. Unfortunately couldn't go on the Storm Coaster as it wasn't open that day, for no apparent reason. Was given no explanation, which was disappointing.
