  • The glow worm tunnels are a great weekend trip. the bush walk is easy and the glow worms are worth it. The change in vegetation is beautiful. A lithgow gem.
  • Took the long and bumpy car trip to see the glow worms on the weekend. It was definitely worth it to see all the little glowing lights on the roof of the abandoned train tunnel. Be warned...take a tor...  read more »
  • A great trip even in winter time. Beautiful remoted place and nature around. We have seen a parrots and kangaroos. Be prepared for a cold conditions (it was 6-8C in sunny day there) in August however is definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend to have a 4wd to get there. The Last section can be really muddy especially after a rainfall. Regarding the glow worms. We have seen some but not many. It was probably too cold for them. I can imagine in the summer time it would be many more of them probably.
  • A long 30km gravel road from Lithgow but normal cars without 4wd will able to do as well. Worth the drive up to the grow worm tunnel
  • Great day trip with the kids (5 and 7) have a 4x4 but drove it in 2wd. (EASY) Best advice, get there early. its cooler and there is parking. it a national park, so a Pit toilet is all you will get,. walk down to the caves was easy, give the kids a torch and have fun. Take water, and your time. its a beaut part of the world EXCELLENT day out for the whole family.
  • There is a bumpy dirt road with plenty of pot holes. You'll need to be careful and drive for about 25km at 30km/h to not pop your tyre. Having a 4wd is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Incredible place. A long bumpy drive in that is still suitable for cars. Take a red or dim torch so you don't ruin your night vision.
