  • This has lots going for it. The last portion of the drive to the glow worm tunnel is good in itself with different types of forestry and even a tunnel to drive through. Once there it is about a 1/2 an...  more »
  • Whilst many people drive this in normal cars, a 4WD is preferred. This is a fantastic 1/2 day trip from Lithgow which involves driving through some scenic bush-land, rock cuttings and even a tunnel to...  more »
  • We went from lithgow, it was so bumpy long road to grow warm tunnel. I read review before we go and I knew it would be bumpy but I didn't expect that bumpy... and long. maybe more than an hour?? There...  more »
  • Long drive into the glow worm tunnels as the ~30km unsealed road has big potholes. In my 2wd wagon, we averaged under 30km/hr. There's little signage but towards the end, there's a national park sign saying glowworm tunnel carpark is 3km ahead but it's actually 6.5km. you'll have to drive through a tunnel in the road as well. The bushwalk is about 30 min mostly level but it does involve some steep stairs at some points. I liked the walk more than the glow worm tunnel but the whole experience is memorable. Bring a torch or phone with a torch for the tunnel. Would also be good to have waterproof walking shoes if you have it the tunnel is quite wet but still possible to navigate with sneakers.
  • Stunning reward to a long journey. Bring a torch. Nice a cool and wet inside.
  • A good family day out lots of fun bushwalking and for driving all because extreme or not
  • Bad dirt road makes the driving harder and longer. Strongly advice to drive a high suspension car there. The view is worth and stunning.
  • Road getting here is a dirt one with lots of holes. Once here its a great place to take your time and have your eyes adjust to the dark. Bring a torch too. Come early to avoid the crowds.
