  • We happened to be in Launceston on a Saturday morning & staying nearby, so we're lucky enough to be able to go. A good variety of excellent fresh food.  more »
  • Another "farmers" market, but a nice one. There were some veggies for sale, but also a lot of more processed produce (honey, cured meat, bread) and some instant hit stalls (coffee, doughnuts). There w...  more »
  • What a treat. The quality of the produce was amazing, a true farmers market from the surrounding area. I would love to have been able to purchase more fresh fruit, veg, seafood and dairy as it all loo...  more »

  • Enjoyable and small market. Plenty of local produce, hardly any touristy stuff, easy to move around. Great atmosphere.
  • Fresh food and everything else you expect from a morning farmer's market. We got some fresh apples - a bag of about 8 or 10 for $1.50(!) and had some good coffee, bacon egg roll also some excellent baklava and some local honey leatherwood I think it was. Just a nice enjoyable morning
  • This market is nothing short of heaven (if you like beautiful fresh food products). We were down in Tassie for a weekend so decided to drop by and devour incredible dry-cured maple bacon (and a garlic version), delicious raspberry tarts, perfectly squeaky haloumi, Korean pancakes, Afghan pastry and some locally roasted coffee to wash it all down.
  • Amazing quality food. Possibly one of the best harvest markets I've been to. Incredible quality of food products available. Meat, seafood, dairy and all the standard fare of bakery items coffee and breakfast menu items available on site. I will visit again.
  • Really well organised market with lots of fresh produce, good coffee and great food.

Where to stay in Launceston

Many visitors to Launceston choose to settle into one of the area's spacious rental apartments, which offer large rooms and plenty of privacy. Equally comfortable, the city's centrally located four-star hotels include onsite restaurants and air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TVs and satellite channels. A less expensive alternative, Launceston's inns provide a convenient base for backpackers and causal travelers arriving without prior reservations. If you want something atmospheric and historical, look for guesthouses located in well-preserved Georgian and Victorian buildings.
