  • What a workout! We started from the base of Stoney Creek, located about 15 mins outside of Cairns, it's challenging, but soo worth it! Took my partner and I about 2.5 hours roundtrip including photos ...  more »

  • The trek to Glacier Rock is well worth the effort. Our start was from Speeway Camping ground trail head taking the Djina-Wu trail to meet Douglas track. This is a great walk through rainforests behind Cairns and Speeway camping is not too further along from Kuranda. It is an 8 k round trip from Speewah to Glacier Rock. Take a snack break and just sit to there and marvel at the view. Don't start the trek without water though!!
  • Definitely would recommend to anyone who is looking to get into bushwalking.
  • Glacier Rock is simply awesome, but at first glance it doesn't look like much. The trek off the main trailhead is pretty rough, despite being just a little over a km, it's pretty narrow and totally uphill the way there. When you arrive to the location, yoou'll possibly be disappointed a little bit. It looks like there's just a sign, and not much of a view. However, if you feel adventurous (which you must if you're hiking right!?) look left. There is a small path that you can carefully follow down to an INCREDIBLE view that will make you dizzy. Have fun.
  • Awesome hike! One of the best right in town
  • Great walk, it's a little slippery at the start with mud over asphalt after some rain. Great views at the top. Hope to go all the way to Kuranda next time.
