Vivonne Bay, Kingscote

(4/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Of the more than 10,000 beaches Sydney University's marine studies center evaluated, it deemed Vivonne Bay one of the best in Australia. The sheltered beach offers long stretches of sand for beachcoming and consistent waves for surfing. Watch fishermen unload their catch at the long jetty. For safe swimming, enter the water near the jetty and boat ramp or the sandy-bottomed Harriet River that enters the bay nearby. Head to the other side of the river to take photos of waves crashing into cliffs. There are barbecue and picnic areas, toilets, and a camping area, making it a well-equipped spot for relaxing. Vivonne Bay is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Kingscote Edition.

  • We stopped at Vivonne Bay during our sightseeing day Beautiful place, we were the only ones there It looks like a good family beach, but we do not know if it is dangerous or such
  • This was our first stop on the first of two days of our island tour - for a 'picnic' of morning coffee with a Lamington on the pier. What an amazing setting for this novel experience.
  • We stayed here for 5 days, it is on the south coast and the middle of the island. If you into quiet solitude, this is the place. No food or drink close by at the present time. Closest is Seal Bay Cafe...  more »
