Warradjan Cultural Centre, Kakadu National Park
Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
The architecture of Warradjan Cultural Centre tells the story of the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, as told by its traditional Aboriginal Australian owners. The circular design of the center symbolizes a warradjan, the pig-nosed turtle, from which the center takes its name. The center features a memorable exhibit of hunting techniques used by local indigenous clans, as well as displays of blood lines, marriage rites, tribal elders' stories, and the effects the white settlers had on this area. This informative center is a convenient place to learn about the rich heritage and culture of this region, as well as about the varied wildlife making its home at the national park. Stop by the center’s small gift shop, which sells genuine Aboriginal Australian arts and crafts. With our custom trip planner, Kakadu National Park attractions like Warradjan Cultural Centre can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
