(4.4/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
The architecture of Warradjan Cultural Centre tells the story of the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, as told by its traditional Aboriginal Australian owners. The circular design of the center symbolizes a warradjan, the pig-nosed turtle, from which the center takes its name. The center features a memorable exhibit of hunting techniques used by local indigenous clans, as well as displays of blood lines, marriage rites, tribal elders' stories, and the effects the white settlers had on this area. This informative center is a convenient place to learn about the rich heritage and culture of this region, as well as about the varied wildlife making its home at the national park. Stop by the center’s small gift shop, which sells genuine Aboriginal Australian arts and crafts. • Aboriginal cultural centre, very well thought out and built. The path winds through interesting descriptions of Aboriginal culture and legends. Good the exhibits (Tools, weapons). In the middle of the Park of Kakadu, is worth a stop. )

  • Cultural Centre Aboriginal located near the lodge cooinda, and interesting very well presented. It explains the lifestyle and traditions of the aborigines who live in this region. They use the pandanus to make baskets: the leaves are cut into thin strips and shades with decoctions of diverse plants before be braided. Their traditional food is based on products of the picking and hunting: various berries, Palm trees, roots that are cooked and cooking under the ash before being consumed, but also snakes, turtles, fish, kangaroos. The 'paper tree', the eucalyptus trees whose bark detaches easily, is used for cooking and food packaging, pieces of bark serving giant curl. There are also a lot of information on the complicated family system which manages the relationships between different groups of individuals. Beliefs are also addressed, "Sung paths" and the dreams that lie on paper in the form of painted tables. It's well done, informative and free but unfortunately you can not take a picture.
