Monte Cristo Homestead, Junee
Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Famous for a number of alleged ghost sightings, Monte Cristo Homestead is a historic property constructed in 1885. This two-story Victorian house sits on a hill and offers panoramic views of the city. Originally owned by a local wealthy family, the property now operates as a museum, antiques store, and tourist attraction. Numerous reports of ghostly apparitions, strange lights, invisible force fields, and unexplainable sounds have given the house a reputation as one of the most haunted sites in Australia. Paranormal activity enthusiasts attribute strange happenings on the property to several tragic incidents that occurred over the years, including the murder of a caretaker in 1961. Enjoy an entertaining ghost tour at a house steeped in rich history and lore. Plan to visit Monte Cristo Homestead during your Junee vacation using our convenient Junee trip itinerary planner.

Stayed years ago but once I walk in with my son I had got a extremely hurting headache and my son was staying in Mr Crawley bedroom and said he was woken up by being shaken and then saw Mr Crawley standing in the door way. Truly creepy. Great service and wonderful food. Will go back next year or sooner I hope.
An interesting visit. I personally did not feel much, only a throbbing feeling in the temples, in the first room to the left. My friend had many weird feelings. The history in this place is fascinating and depressing. A must visit for the area, if not for the ghosts, but for the history.
