  • Attended on a busy weekend. Plenty here for the kids which makes it noisy! As an adult I was done after walking through the place in under 2 hours. Best part of it is the heritage buildings and some g...  read more »

  • Thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the old trains and the history behind them all . Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in trains. There stuff for the kids to do too.
  • A++ For wet, rainy days and when the kids are scratching at the walls needing a play. This is a fantastic place to go when it's completely pouring down with rain. It has FREE off street parking and is stroller friendly with plenty of space to explore the exhibitions. The Little Nippers playground is large enough to accommodates a lot of kids without it feeling crowded for the parents. There's a few Thomas the tank engine wooden railways permanent set up, dress up hats & vests if the kids want to be train drivers or firemen. Also tucked away is the kitchen and cafe play area via the Galley train (beside the nippers yard.) We live in Brisbane West and it's worth the trip, We have had Family yearly pass for the last 3 years and it has paid for itself tenfold. My sons ages 6 and 2 yr average a visit every 3 weeks or when it rains or for the visiting exhibitions. The staff have always been friendly and are happy to answer questions. There is a cafe, but due to the building being old it does get very noisy when lunch time comes and it overwhelms my kids and I. So, we get a takeaway coffee and hot chocolates and eat out own food in the undercover areas outside. PLEASE take close toes shoes even for the kids as there a guided tour in the current working welding workshops and is a safety requirement. Most dads like this the best.
  • Not something a would normal go to but ended up having a good afternoon out. Great to see all the old steam engines and equipment.
  • Some good photo opportunities.... and a nice family day out with lots of interactive activities for kids.
  • Great for kids and train lovers. Try your driving skills with the two train simulators (old & modern train). Join the museum tour. Street parking maybe closer than the Carpark. No aircon in most area so can be hot. Bring water.
  • The kids love this place. If you live near here and have children I recommend grabbing a yearly pass because the kids will want to come back and see Thomas the Tank Engine again and again.
