Known as one of the city’s most prestigious areas, Sandy Bay faces the Derwent River and features several popular beaches. The area is dotted with quaint houses and small shops selling a variety of locally-made products. You can also take advantage of a number of playground areas, set up specifically for families with small children. Spend some relaxing time walking along the water, and enjoy picturesque views of boats as they come and go. The bay is accessible from Battery Point by a popular sculpture-walk, which features artwork based on the history of the region, as well as numerous peaceful picnic spots where you can rest and reflect.   • We walked along from the salamanca markets to the McDonald's, there is some really nice houses here and the waterfront is spectacular.  more »
