Known as one of the city’s most prestigious areas, Sandy Bay faces the Derwent River and features several popular beaches. The area is dotted with quaint houses and small shops selling a variety of locally-made products. You can also take advantage of a number of playground areas, set up specifically for families with small children. Spend some relaxing time walking along the water, and enjoy picturesque views of boats as they come and go.   • Not much of a beach, but a park to walk with dogs, and views out into the harbour. Some nice houses nearby.
