  • Keen walkers, we decided to wander from Zumsteins car park/picnic area (plenty of parking, tables, bbq facilities and wonderfully clean toilets) to McKenzies Falls via Fish Falls. Bonus points for...  more »
  • Thinking it being the end of Summer, the falls would be a trickle...WRONG!. The sign says 250 substantial steps...and there were, but the experience was very good and worth the lung busting walk.  more »
  • Going down was easy. At the falls is like heaven. Climbing back up...death! Seriously it’s a must go to place when you are in the Grampians. Beautiful falls to have a good dip on a warm day with...  more »

  • The walk down to MacKenzie Falls is fairly easy. Be mindful that there are about 200 or so steps up and down so if you have issues with steps then it may be wise to avoid. Otherwise it's a beautiful place to see. Many swim although it is prohibited and can have quite strong rips right at the base of the falls otherwise appears safe. Drains into a stream so can always cool down there.
  • Really, really pretty. Even if you don't stick your feet in the water, the breeze blows water droplets right onto you. It feels amazing. If you decide to immerse your body in the water, be careful of the algae. It's really slick and you could easily fall
  • My brother and I fought all day about whether or not to visited the falls since it is an hour off the main road. I’m so happy he won since we saw the amazing falls and hundreds of wallaby’s along the way. We were the only people up there at sunset with one other couple which was amazing. The roads were not as bad as people say. Just lookout for wildlife, frogs (there were hundreds out at night) and the cows. Enjoy!
  • A wonderful waterfall, with plenty of beautiful scenery. It also provides great photo opportunities, but the only thing that may stop some people is the 266 steep steps you have to take to get down to the falls (the way back up is more tiring), but this shouldn't deter anyone from going to visit this magnificent place! Otherwise it is definitely worthwhile visiting, as it is one of the best waterfalls to experience in the Grampians!
  • Fun experience. The walk can get a little busy at peak times, I would recommend going when it's less busy to enjoy the location without much noise or pushing. The walk itself is a bit of an effort, harder with kids. Be prepared to carry them for about 15 minutes of steps and inclines. Lots of different areas to look at other than the fall itself, so keep exploring. Don't jump off any cliffs, the water is shallow and the rocks are hard.
