  • We were 5 days of honeymoon in Hamilton Island. After 2.30 pm from Sydney, arrived at a small airport on the island. It is the only one that has own airport. Hamilton Island is a sophisticated and exclusive place. The amount of people that one sees on the island is the fair. There is no chipboard people by luck. It has a very important gastronomic offer, tennis courts, local and many activities. The beach is very nice and you can do kayaking, catamaran sailing and snorkeling. The downside of the place is the following: food and activities are expensive. Very expensive! It should be prepared for that. Another detail very important, that no one mentions, is the amount of bats what there is. In the region are the famous "flying foxes" that are up to 1 metre of largo(gigantes!!!) bats. For Australians, it is normal. For me not!

  • I love the Marina. Such a beautiful place, lots of local birds around, great restaurants and eateries. A few shops to wander around in. Definately a place to explore!
  • You can hire boats or like us just walk around and admire them. Walk right up to the Yacht club - a stunning building - for lovely views especially at sunset.

  • A little overpriced, but I guess that is to be expected. Good range of shops and food. Go up the road and check out the view overlooking the harbour.
  • Stayed on a yacht in the harbour for about a day and a half preparing to sail and packing supplies
  • Great views friendly staff
  • The marina area has a nice selection of modern and well maintained shops covering all kinds of foods and supplies. It all looked the part, but was too suburban - it looked like they just picked up a chunk of the mainland and plonked it ib the ocean - you'd never know you were on an island paradise. It was all clean and tidy, and had all that we needed for a days outing.
  • Very expensive, but it is Hammo
