  • Interesting for a stop-over but beware the steep stairs and dusty atmosphere. Not great on a hot day as there's no open windows, fans or air conditioning - so can be stifling and claustrophobic. The history of the Australian Wool Industry makes for good reading. Cleverly marketed as Free Entry BUT you do enter and exit through a Gift Shop which could prove very expensive if you succumb to temptation, especially if you take young children with you.
  • Went back to visit having been here a lot add a kid. Needs some updating on the inside. Not even clear how you get in to walk up and look of the rams eyes. Be nice to also have done information on the actual Big Merino. Ie. When it was built, by who, how much concrete, how they built it. Still a good photo opportunity and fun to zoe someone from overseas.
  • A very big statue of a merino sheep with a nice and small gift shop underneath. Inside the sheep there is an educational, 3 floor high area with the history and description of wool farming in Australia. You can even look through the eyes of the sheep (not in city direction). In total: Fun to see but not a pretty amazing view, still worth having a look when in the near.
  • Great place to get a photo. Also great range of wool products. Pretty expensive though...
  • The only way to judge a "big" tourist attraction like this is by it's snow globe stock. Sadly, The Big Merino stock a sad array of snow globes with generic "sheep" inside that look nothing like the actual Big Merino. So very sad and disappointing.
