Australian Reptile Park, Gosford

4.5
#1 of 18 in Things to do in Gosford
Australian Reptile Park brings you to reptile and wildlife paradise. Get up close to the animals: See the giant 165 kg (363 lbs) Galapagos tortoise, pet a possum, and hand-feed the kangaroos. You can also watch the alligator feeding at the lagoon and wildlife shows starring Burmese pythons and dingoes. Head to the snake and venom collection to learn about production of antivenin used for saving lives. Don’t miss a chance to see one of largest diplodocus replicas and Elvis the crocodile, dubbed the zoo’s unhappiest resident, since an attack on park staff and their lawnmower left him with two lost teeth. • The park is great, and worth the drive. You can tell the keepers have a love for animals. The outdoor areas are great. You can sit in the kangaroo area while having your lunch, but be careful they have sticky fingers and might snag your food hahah.
  • Such a lovely place to spend the day! Great family friendly environment, with lots of animals to see. Not to mention the interactive and educational talks and feeding times to look out for. We Drove up from Melbourne and it was definitely worth the trip. I'd recommend everyone to have a cuddle with the wombat and koalas....they are too cute!
  • Excellent place to bring the kids. Big picnic area where you can feed the kangaroos (btw the dark brown ones will take the bag off you ;)). Nice collection of snakes and spiders. Go for a walk around the back for a nice cool track to visit the nocturnal animals and avian variety.
  • Great for Kids, Adults and Groups. We took our own BBQ meal for a cookup, facilities are clean and tidy. Animals are friendly. Kangaroos roam around next to you, lots of petting. Crocodile show good, koalas, birds, reptiles, snakes, spiders, lots. Casual food available. Kids 12yr and 2yr loved it.
  • Best animal talks you can imagine! Informative, fun and with a cheecky dose of banter. Generally a very family oriented Park and free roaming kangaroos kept children (and adults!) pretty entertained.
