The Friends aim is to increase community awareness of the scientific, educational and conservation functions of the Gardens. The Friends volunteer guides promote this aim by engaging with visitors to the Gardens and taking groups on guided walks.

The Friends also conduct activities to raise funds for the Gardens' continuing development.

  • Had fun and was able to read a cool book to my youngest son which was rather cool. They all had fun taking photos. 
  • Escaped many of times to these gardens to rest and relax. Manicured within an inch of its life. Parking close by. Lovely green lawns to lay on and have a picnic. 
  • we enjoyed a great walk and picnic in the gardens and the kids had a great time in the children's park. 
  • A great quite location close to the city. It has great views of the bay. Lots of open spaces and a variety of parking places. If you meet others here then you will need to be clear where in the gardens you will meet.
  • This is a lovely garden and in a great location. You can walk here from the foreshore. Also has a great little cafe.
