Where to stay in Fremantle

A good alternative to staying in busy Perth, the port city of Fremantle offers atmospheric lodgings in many of its well-preserved buildings from the 19th century. Available for both long and short stays in the city, these rental properties offer lots of privacy and all the modern conveniences you need, all just a walk away from the city's main attractions. If you're traveling on a budget, consider Fremantle's mid-range hotels and backpacker hostels, many of which you'll find near the main train station.

  • Always a beautiful place just to walk into and sit for a while. A warm summers day and a free band make it perfect. Ahn intimate concert for 200 in the courtyard or a full blown band gig in the main arena. The beer is expensive but it is everywhere where you can't take your own. Recently went and viewed a great indigenous art exhibition, free, so always something to enjoy even if it's just an hour of solitude.
  • Great art exhibitions, art courses for fun and fulfilment, classy shop with up market craft, a bookshop, small selection, but great illustrated books for kids - all in a building with character, and an interesting history. There's also a cafe serving coffee, cake and light lunches, inside or in a courtyard garden. Well worth a visit. In summer there are a variety of free music events outside.
  • Every time I come here I have the best time. Great facilities, lots of places to sit down and relax. The food is top notch, however alcohol choices are poor and the prices are high.
  • Really good and best of all it's free. The have a virtual reality helmet which I recommend trying
  • Discovered this place when I signed up for a short summer ceramics course. The class was awesome!! So happy with the teacher ans the way it was run. Will definitely return! Also love the shop to see products the teachers and others have created.
