Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web
In the middle of the Flinders Ranges National Park, you'll find the huge natural amphitheater of Wilpena Pound. The Rocky peak here rise suddenly from the flat earth. Choose from a series of hikes of varying levels of difficulty through the surrounding bush. The location at the terminus of a sealed road 429 km (267 mi) north of Adelaide lends this spot a sense of isolation, but you can find nearby accommodations. For a bird's-eye view of the amphitheater, hop aboard one of the small airplanes departing from the airstrip at the Wilpena Pound Resort. A visit to Wilpena Pound represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Flinders Ranges National Park trip builder to plot your vacation.
