  • If you are touring around and love snorkeling, then do not miss this spot. Turquoise bay was great, but on the day we went through the area, Oyster Stacks was much better - clearer water, more fish to...  more »
  • Take 3 steps in the water and be on a coral reef in the middle of exotic fish... It is the privilege of oyster stacks! Attention however to the tide. It must be high in order to admire the corals without damaging them or get hurt... And then wear a tshirt to avoid sunburns that here is proving particularly aggressive

  • My boyfriend and I visited various snorkelling sites during our stay in Exmouth - Lakeside, Turquoise Bay Drift Snorkel, Turquoise Bay and Oyster Stacks. Oyster Stacks was the best location hands down...  more »

  • Great and easy snorkeling. Little bit shallow but therefore accessible for anyone! Nice colourfull and healthy patches of coral with big schools of larger pellagic fish. Spotted a big red bass as well and quite a few spotted rays. When lucky a baby reef shark on your way out.
  • Good to go on high tide but need to be careful with rocks
  • Great place to snorkel. Had an absolute ball in the water.
  • Amazing go in high tide only
  • One of my favourite snorkelling spots in the world. Access to the water is through rocks, so care needs to be taken when getting to and out of the water. I prefer the place with low tide, but in this case water depth is about 1.2 m. However, there are plenty of corals, so it can be much shallower in fact in some areas (you have some sorts of "canyons" you need to navigate). As a rule of thumb, I would avoid touching anything in the water because it can be either dangerous (and poisonous) or delicate (and so get damaged or killed). So, if someone is not a good swimmer and needs breaks, I would take floating aids with me. Snorkelling gear is also a must! Although I did not take underwater pictures, we saw a couple of turtles here. In fact, swimming next to one has been one of my best experiences ever. There are plenty of parrot fish, other colourful fish and obviously coral as well: it is as if you were in an aquarium. Look out for octopuses, creayfish and giant green or purple clams.
