The Great Aussie Beer Shed, Echuca

(4.9/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
A small town's big tourist attraction, The Great Aussie Beer Shed is the first and only beer can museum in Australia. In addition to its collection of 16,000 beer cans, the museum features displays of other brewery-related items, such as beer tap tops, tap handles, trays, old wooden beer barrels, bottles, vintage signs, and old and new brewery equipment and machinery. The museum covers over 400 sq m (5,000 sq ft) and conducts daily guided tours of its many displays. Much more than just a beer can gallery, the site offers an unusual look at Australian history, with its permanent exhibit of old-fashioned farm equipment and kitchen and laundry items of early European settlers. • Well worth a visit. You can spend a coule of hours here looking at this huge collection, and it's much more than beer cans. The 10 minute introduction is helpful in pointing out the rarer pieces.
  • A truly great rural museum with a wonderful tour guide included. The dedicated owners even located and excavated the World War One memorial that was desecrated and buried in the 1960's by a misguided ...  more »

  • Great. We stayed there in their accomodation and then also went for a tour. The accomodation was fantastic. The Shed was also great. They had a large range of memorabilia on show. Interesting for everyone. I do not like beer, haha, but they huge range of things on display. Old coaches, war time things through to old postal things. Recommend.
  • Neil the owner is a true character and true AUSSIE this is very interesting ausie history and a must see if you are in the area.
  • We had a wonderful experience at the beer shed. The kids thought it would be boring but they were soon proven wrong. Not only did they enjoy the displays but the host Neil included them in the guided tour with special jobs. It is a must see if traveling to Echuca.
  • Had a great day at the beer shed, Neil is the perfect host that makes you laugh! Great tourist attraction.
