  • What a great experience. So much history here. We loved the self guided tour, and will be traveling back to Maitland to do the torch light tour. Be sure to allow a full 2 hours to complete the self gu...  more »

  • We've been to the gaol on several occasions and it is a very sobering experience. The self guided tour was good and easy to use. A couple more language options would be useful. Need at least an hour a...  more »

  • Went here today 07/6/17, after waiting for the receptionist to get off the phone, she proceeded to serve 2 people who walked in after us, even after they pointed out to her that we were there first, she spent 10mins telling them about all the places in Maitland then when it came to my partner and I, she was blatantly obnoxious, and when asked about other places in Maitland claimed she wasn't really sure.. No idea what we did to piss her off(hope it wasn't race related as we are of Asian appearance), only reason I didn't give this 1 star was due to a super friendly and helpful caretaker we met working in the jail who told us stories about the jail, Maitland and cool things to do, much respect to him!
  • Went on the 'Crimes of Passion' night tour. It was very fun (and eerie at times). Both hosts were knowledgeable and friendly.
  • We took the self guided audio tour. It was a great way to explore an historic building while the kids ran around. A very interesting old building
  • Good enjoyable tour. Lots of history and very interesting. Girl at desk was enthusiastic.
  • Good audio tour. Some parts are pretty decrepit and closed off, but some of it is good.
