The Dangar Falls is a cascade waterfall located across the Bielsdown River about 1.2km north of in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. The falls are small, picturesque, and are a popular photographic subject. For a short time after rain they are quite spectacular. There is an attractive picnic spot which offers excellent views. It is possible to climb down the banks and walk along the river below the water falls. In the past the waterhole has been the scene of several tragic accidents. Despite warning signs from the local council, the 30-metre high falls remain a popular jumping spot for tourists. In 2012 a 19-year-old German tourist died after jumping from the falls with her friends.

  • It is worthwhile going a bit out of the town of Dorrigo to view these falls as they are truly magnificent.  more »
  • Just beautiful. Short easy walk with spectacular views over the gorge and the falls are lovely. The rock formation and vegetation make a stunning photograph of the surroundings.  more »
  • Came across the sign for these falls on our way to Dorrigo for breakfast before we tackled the rainforest. Great stop off point. Pretty view.  more »
  • Terrific swimming spot. Three levels of swimming ponds. The biggest is under the waterfall and it's about the size of half an Olympic pool. Cool and refreshing but NOT SAFE to drink. No Bullrout in this pool so safe to stand on the bottom and walk over the rocks. The rocks at the top of the waterfall are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY and lots of people not expecting this get twisted or sprained ankles - let common sense prevail. Do NOT let your children under 15 swim alone under the waterfall as it can be a bit overwhelming especially after rain. Very picturesque and great spot for nature and family pics. Great picnic ground overlooking the falls.
  • Amazing place. Swim in the water hole below the falls or chill out in the water hole at the top of the falls. BBQ to use while your there but viewing platform is very small so just chill out and relax to get that great pic
  • Nice waterfall. You can also swim directly in the lake.
  • Amazing place to see. Beautiful place to have a swim and relax.
  • This place is a little hard to get to once you leave the carpark, but it's *so* worth it. The view from the top of the gorge overlooking the falls is simply spectacular, and from the bottom of the gorge it's just so serene and picturesque.
