Shell Beach, Denham

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web
The remarkable, rare spectacle of a sun-bleached beach made entirely of shells rather than sand awaits the visitor to Shell Beach, a 110 km (68 mi) stretch of land in Western Australia. The stark whiteness of the beach contrasts vividly with the azure of the sea, while the shells of Shell Beach generally reach a depth of 7 to 10 meters (23 to 33 ft). Only one other such beach is known to exist. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Denham holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Shell Beach and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The whole beach is beautiful white mussels. The water is very clear and you can swim well here. Or after a long car ride that cool Füase in the cool sea!

  • Don't make a special trip to shark bay to see this, but if in the area, worth a look. Make sure you have thongs on, shells are quite sharp, and water is so blue and clear, hard to resist wading in.
  • Wasnt as good as was expecting. Maybe because the tide goes out such a long way it may have been different to pictures we saw in magazines.
