  • The entrance just like any other casino, bright lights and then the stale smell as you enter. Push yourself in and wind yourself around to the restaurants, cheap and average buffet as you enter, windo...  read more »

  • Large spacious rooms. Massive bathroom. Beautiful view over the ocean. I had room service for dinner as was late getting in and it was fabulous. Only downsides were the significantly long distance to the carpark (parked in the free casino carpark, there was a car park a little closer but lots of $$ to park there and it looked full) and the very loud fountain in the hotel atrium which I could hear clearly in the lounge area of my room (though not the bedroom)
  • Customer Service deserves a zero star rating - I have never encountered more sullen, unhelpful or hostile staff utterly uninterested in helping their hotel guests. Not that I particularly needed anything, just ordering a latte with breakfast (something else they charge you extra for - look out for all thise sneaky hidden charges) or requesting the empty buffet breakfast dishes were re-filled, rewarded you with hostile glares and the distinct impression that you were being an enormous pain. When I pay an additional $28 for breakfast - I'd like to eat what's advertised on the menu please. Staff barge past you in the restaurants and bars - I assumed their business must be far more important than mine. Customer service clearly hasn't been invented in Darwin yet. Shame - cos the hotel room was great, with one of the best views I've ever seen. But the hotel should not give itself a 5 star rating - it is a low 4 star at best.
  • Located right on the top end of the top end, sky city was exactly what I needed in Darwin. I had just come off a two week bus tour from Alice Springs up to Darwin and stayed in mixed level accommodation along the way, getting to sky city was like a breath of fresh air. Located about a five minute can ride from the centre of Darwin, we had booked a room in the lagoon resort section of the resort and it was excellent from the beginning onwards, the rooms were spotless clean and the amenities were fantastic, large comfortable bed, shower and large bath (which I could stretch out in and I'm 6'2") excellent spacious balcony overlooking the lagoon pool and with views of the ocean. The room service was prompt when ordered and any issues we had, ie the batteries were dead in our TV controller, were fixed right away. The resort itself has several restaurants, however as we were only here for two nights we chose the Italian and it didn't disappoint. The casino floor itself is small by comparison to what I am used to from Sydney / Melbourne etc, and the selection of games is a little limited bit you could pass an hour or two in there if you wished. Breakfast if it's not included in your room package is quite expensive at 29 dollars pp for a buffet, food was of a good standard, however one criticism I would have is after paying the 29 dollars they still expect you to pay for a freshly brewed barista coffee, or use the coffee vending machine instead which tasted terrible, but if that's all I can criticise then it's not doing too bad. All in all a great way to end my holiday, I'll be back for sure
  • Great resort, the pool is great, just needs some shade to cool it down. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and the beds comfy.
  • Off season this is a great deal. Excellent garden and artificial canals make it charming. It has a 24/7 sauna, gym and an an infinity pool. I really enjoyed my stay.
