  • The travelling exhibition of Sidney Nolan's iconic Ned Kelly paintings is fantastic, especially if you've got kids. I took my 6 year old granddaughter to see it and she was given a mini iPad with descriptions of the paintings written in the character of Ned Kelly and a Ned Kelly doll to take around. We both loved it and it led to some very interesting discussions about hero or villain. Best $3 spent in a long while. Also don't miss the Therese Ritchie retrospective and the solar system exhibition.
  • Brilliant free outing. Thought that others were probably starved for ideas around what to do in Darwin when it was suggested to us... however we stayed for over 3 hours and enjoyed every minute. Beautifully set out stages of displays and easy to follow stories and information. No one standout area, all were a brilliant effort!
  • Really well set out museum. Great selection of exhibits. Sweet heart was worth seeing. Really good coverage of Cyclone Tracey. Apparently the gift shop is really good but it was closed by the time we finished in the museum.
  • WOW What a wonderful museum the staff were incredible an indigenous young men on the desk was very helpful and polite and well spoken.
