Inspirock Rating:
3.9/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web
At Mindil Beach Markets, peruse the many stalls selling food, crafts, clothes, toys, Territorian items, and more. Enjoy the free entertainment, usually in the form of circus-style acts like jugglers and fire breathers. A large grassy area toward the sand dunes is the perfect place to set up your own chairs, tables, and blankets. It’s a magical spot where you can shop around the market and taste a variety of cuisines. Grab some takeout and drinks and relax on the beach while watching the sun go down. • It seems that globalisation is now turning all our markets into stalls selling the same stuff. It used to be that markets gave you an opportunity to sample the local artisan. Now you can't tell if you...  read more »
  • We walked to Mindil Beach from the CBD, which was hot but manageable. It was lovely to arrive to stall upon stall of interesting, well priced, delicious food. We had about an hour before sunset so we ...  read more »
  • This seaside market is very friendly. People come in family watch the sunset while munching a plate proposed by one of the many food stands. The offer is wide, the burrito at the crepe with Nutella, through sushi, pizza and burgers to the crocodile! There are also quite a few craft (boomerangs, crocodile skin, jewelry, objects and various clothing items), musicians (Orchestra of the army, didjeridu players this traditional instrument of the Aboriginal culture) and "attractions" as the man who plays the whip or another who has a comical number with his dog. Everything is done in a family atmosphere and good child. The market takes place twice a week on Thursday and Sunday from 16: 00 to 21: 00. If you are Darwin at this time, please

  • While waiting for the fireworks (July 1), i went to the sunset markets and they were beautiful. They had such a large range of products at affordable prices. I ordered pizza from one of the markets (sorry forgot the name) and that was delicious! Such a good spot to have the markets.
  • Great acts although most are just trying to get money from you or the kids, food looks good but expensive and I didn't enjoy my Tucker.
  • This is by far Darwin's biggest tourist attraction, but also popular with the locals. They have stalls with every cuisine you can think of, live entertainment and delicious fruit shakes. I was born and raised in Darwin and never get sick of going to the Mindil markets :)
  • Predominantly a food market for delicious laksa, smoothies, and crocodile burgers. There are also buskers for some added entertainment. The market runs on Thurs 5-10 PM, Sun 4-9 PM from the last Thursday in April until last Thursday in October.
  • Great market, helpful friendly customer service at all the stalls and a fantastic range of cultural outback items.. lots of places to choose to eat at
