  • The cradle mountain is a must visit. We drove there on a day trip from Launceston. We parked at the car park and took a short walk around the lake. The scenery was breathtaking and the weather was col...  more »
  • State Parks is in a mountainous area so very cold and foggy. You have to ride a car or a tour here and must be parked outside of State Parks. There is a free shuttlebus to some places of interest in state parks. $16.50 entrance ticket per person. Most people love the Lake but there are some wild animals, such as echidna and Wombats, which are usually terllihat near Ronnys Hut. We meet three Wombats and Wallabies one time sightseeing in the region.

  • Exciting place to take the family. The snow was nice and thick and wildlife were abundant.
  • Amazing place. Great walks. A little confusing regarding entry to the park but the staff at the information center are very helpful.
  • Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park is a national tourism treasure and a nirvana for nature lovers. Sparkling lakes, serrated dolerite peaks, alpine heathland, and dense forests characterize the raw, glacier-carved wilderness here, and 1,616-meter Mount Ossa is one of the park's most distinctive features and the highest point in Tasmania. As you might expect, hiking here is fantastic. Favorites include theWeindorfer Walk, a six-kilometer loop through dense forests, and Lake Dove Walk, with breathtaking vistas of Cradle Mountain (1,545 meters). Stand on the summit of Cradle Mountain, and you can soak up stunning views of the central highlands. Experienced hikers can also tackle the famous 80-kilometerOverland Track, which runs south from Cradle Valley to stunning Lake St. Clair, Australia's deepest lake. Keep an eye out for Tasmanian devils, wombats, wallabies, pademelons, and platypus among the many species of weird and wonderful wildlife.
  • Our last stop during our small camper van trip in Tasmania, wish we had come here first, this place definitely needs more than one day, weather was cloudy but the location was beautiful, gear yourself with winter wear as it gets cold with altitude. Tour guides and bus service is awesome, bus every 20mins and they will let you decide what walk to do depending on how much time you want to be there before 5pm
  • Beautiful! Have gone back many times and the last time I was there it snowed that night! So quiet!
