If you want to know how good the lifestyle of many of Perth's residents is, head to Cottesloe Beach. Only 15 minutes from the city center, this 1.5 km (1 mi) expanse of golden sand meets clear Indian Ocean water ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Enjoy a picnic and watch a game of cricket on the grass of the nearby Cottesloe Esplanade. • NIce, relaxed beach, just a 15 min train ride from Perth. At the time I was there, there was a lot of a great artwork.  more »

  • I do like this beach, it is quiet although that does mean that eatery options are limited (the ones that they have do look great though). I found it a little windy when I visited so might be best to stay on the grass on those days rather than the sand. The water was lovely but a little choppy (due to the wind) but none of that took away from a good beach day.
  • Sculptures by the sea is nice and the beach is a great place to spend time with family. The weekends are very crowded though - i guess it's because the sculptures by the sea is in happening now and slightly difficult to get a parking nearby - but if you are ready for a short stroll - will get a lot of free parking spots. Overall, above average experience.
  • Another beautiful beach we visited but it was made more interesting with sculpture exhibition by the sea. So many unique and pretty sculpture to look out for. Grab a cold drink, a hat and sun tan lotion and walk around. It's up until this weekend only.
  • More than a kilometer of pure white sand and clear turquoise waters. Superb beach and great place for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Here you will see the internationally famous grassed terraces and tall shady Norfolk pine trees overlooking the Indian Ocean. A perfect spot to watch the sunset. The beach is the most crowded area on weekends and holidays, but also the safest because it's in front of the surf life savers.  Here you will also find Australia's only family owned Surfing School. Toilets and change facilities are located on the middle level of the north and south end of Indiana Tea House Building. Over the summer, the North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club has Beach Wheelchair available for loan generally on weekends. Vehicles displaying a current ACROD permit can use the disabled parking bays.
  • A beautiful beach in Perth. If you wish to have a sun bath or a sea bath or even want to catch fish with angles, this is the perfect place for you. You can also enjoy fish and chips from nearby shops. There are fresh water points where you can wash your body as well. A good place to see the sun set. However, parking place are limited and sometimes it is very windy. So you cannot sit too long.
