Josephine's Gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage, Coober Pedy

(4.4/5 based on 190 reviews on the web)
Feed, pet, and photograph kangaroos at Josephine's Gallery & Kangaroo Orphanage, which also includes an aboriginal art gallery with one-of-a-kind art pieces, available for shipping anywhere in the world. This unusual kangaroo orphanage, combining several tourist attractions in one, primarily cares for animals injured by cars, an unfortunate but frequent occurrence in this part of the world. Below the orphanage you can also visit a mine, where you can learn about various forms of opal mining. The on-site museum is known for its displays of black opals, brought here from some of Australia’s major opal mines. Don’t leave without a stop at the well-stocked gift shop, selling souvenirs for every budget, including didgeridoos, opal jewelry, and aboriginal art reproductions. • It is a gallery of art Aboriginal that has a couple very, but very friendly. They also sell Opal. And the most beautiful thing is that at the bottom of the property, they have kangaroos orphans, those who care for babies. Two times a day open their doors so that visitors give them eating in his hand to the canguritos. Throughout the visit is free, but donations are accepted and really worth donate because it is a very good action to take care of the kangaroos.

  • I enjoyed the gallery and the Aboriginal art, musical instruments and weapons. The kangaroos was the purpose of the trip. The photos and videos were hits in the USA. Donate and learn it's great.  more »
