Riesling Trail, Clare
(4.8/5 based on 160 reviews on the web)
A picturesque ride through Riesling country is an ideal way to fill a day. Taste the best of the sweet white wine off pit stops on the 35 km (21.7 mi) Riesling Trail. The trail follows an old railway route through the countryside with many side loops. These take you past villages, where you'll find coffee shops and pubs to refresh yourself along the way. Farms and vineyards fill the land around these villages, but there is ample signage pointing the way and marking significant sights so you won't get lost among the greenery. The trail is flat and smooth enough for a beginning cyclist, and bike rentals are available at both ends. Ride one way and drop your bike off, or go for the entire 70 km (43.5 mi) ride round-trip. Put Riesling Trail into our Sevenhill travel itinerary maker and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.
