  • Cute little place. It's more of a shop with some bees than a farm but it's informative and has a good selection of different honey to taste. There's skincare products, candles and lots of bee and honey themed knick knacks to purchase. There's also yummy ice cream. A good place to stop in at if you're in the area.
  • Excellent place to visit. It is educational with free honey tasting. They have quite a large variety of honey. They even have different flavors of honey ice cream. I had the leatherwood honey ice cream and it was so delicious! They also have a very welcoming and helpful staff. So glad we visited Makita Honey Farm!
  • Love this place! More just a shop than an actual farm, but you can still view a glassed-in beehive and all the bees at work. They have a huge selection of honey products to eat and for skincare. There's also nougat and ice cream. Lots of bee themed products for sale too. The family who run the farm are very friendly and lovely. Great stop along our route.
  • Loved Melita Honey Farm so much we had to stop in again before we went back home to the mainland! They have the biggest selection of honey flavours I've ever seen and you can trial them all with their in-store samples (we ended up settling on ginger, jasmine and a vanilla). They also sell honey personal care products and other honey/bee related things. They had a lot of nice educational parts to the store and I loved the bee viewing area out the back. The highlight for me however was the ice cream (competing with my Italian gelato experience) - we tried leatherwood (the local tassie honey), ginger, hazlenut, passion fruit and blood orange, and they were all so delicious! Very reasonably priced (honey jars range around $6-13, and the icecream was about $6 for two scoops). Highly recommend this as a stop!
  • What a beautiful shop. ..tasted lots of different honey's. ...bought a beautiful beez wax candle. ..and tried the chocolate honey ice cream. ..must see. ...
