We went horse riding to Ace-Hi on the Easter weekend... I went w my partner who had never ridden and it ended up being only us and 1 other lady. i had one of the best horse riding experiences I've ever had. The scenery was beautiful, the horses were so calm and well looked after and the guide Matt was so lovely and clearly adored his job! Thanks Ace Hi for such an amazing experience!! the beach views and horse ride is something i won't forget for a long time!! 5 stars
Worst trail ride I've even been on and will never go back. My partner got kicked by a horse as he was inexperienced and they went to check the horses foot first. My partners leg was bleeding and all they could offer him was a bandaid - hopeless. He had to have two stitches and was in pain for the next week of our holiday. NEVER AGAIN!!!
As a horse owner of 23 years, I went along with some friends with minimal expectations. I've been to other trail riding places before and been disappointed in either the setting or the health and appearance of the horses. However, I was pleasantly surprised in both these areas - the scenery was just gorgeous. It's located near the beach, but also has rolling hills and a nice country-feel. More importantly, the horses were really well kept. Their hooves were well-maintained and they were not underweight. It really makes me sad to see underweight horses at these places. Or horses that have dull coats or look bored. Yet these horses were clearly well maintained. I also found the staff there really helpful and clearly loved the horses. I can't remember the name of the horse I rode (a bay), but the girl leading our group had nothing but sweet things to say about him. It reminded me of a young me - so caring and enthusiastic. It was really refreshing! No cowboy-types at this ranch :-)
Great Ride- Bush and Beach was fantastic - Loretta was a great host and Comet an absolute dream to ride. The people in the office were quite curt and not very friendly, but the rest of the operation was fantastic and I would highly recommend for an intermediate rider like our group.
The supervisors on the trail are really grumpy and even though you put "inexperienced" on the form, they expect you to be good at riding. worst bday of my life.
