Where to stay in Canberra

To stay comfortably near most main attractions in Canberra, choose a hotel in the city's central district. If you're a bit more budget-minded, look for a guesthouse in a neighborhood farther away from the city center. Residential areas offer more parking and quieter rooms at a fraction of the price charged by big-name centrally located hotels. Rental apartments spread across Canberra serve as another cozy option and offer lodgings ranging from simply furnished to luxurious five-star properties.

  • A mob of kangaroos were at the park. Possibly quite used to humans and cars. A good place to come to see kangaroos. Play ground (with water play area) to keep the young ones busy. BBQ stoves available. Toilets were clean.
  • Amazing!! Beautiful you must to go. Do you want to see Kangaroos?? This is the place
  • Very great place to be for half a day.. Viewing kangaroos at close range was a great experience. Nice play area for kids...
  • If you're a tourist who would like to see kangaroos in their natural habitat, this is the place to visit (late afternoon and early evening is best). A peaceful park by the lake with lovely views of Canberra. Lots of space for families, functions, barbecues, etc. Children are also well catered for with a unique water playground.
  • Is it Canberra's best park for children? Quite possibly. It's got a kids park so legendary that I even recall it from my own childhood - and now I'm taking my own son there. It's even got minigolf, frisbee-golf nets on the lake foreshore, and a miniature train ride - what's not to like? This park is popular for kids parties, so if you're looking for a table with shelter then you'll need to get there early.
