  • The zoo was quite good. It was laid out a little differently. The map was a little hard to follow, but it was a nice afternoon out. We had a good day to just walk around the entire zoo.
  • What a delightful setting, a real pleasure to walk around, lots of shade and trees. Such a nice zoo. We allowed two hours to see the zoo itself and that was about the right time. It is - at the moment...  more »

  • Simply magnificent! Jamala is beautifully appointed, staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable. The work being done at the Zoo to help preserve endangered wildlife and educate people while caring for the animals is becoming more and more important as humans destroy their natural habitats. A great experience!
  • Stayed at Jamala Lodge, first class - the staff are brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable, the accommodation is very well thought out and quite luxurious. The food is amazing, being a vegetarian my dinner was delicious and you certainly dont go hungry. What an amazing experience to be able to be in such close proximity to such beautiful creatures, we were very fortunate to have two gorgeous sun bears sleeping right outside our window. Well worth it.
  • The ring-tailed lemurs are sooooo cute. A great place to bring the family. Memberships are great value. A great place to experience foreign animals.
  • Wow, blew me away, way better than expected. Got so close to the animals, well kept and lots of variety including African and Australian creatures. Ok cafe and good gift shop.
  • My favourite place in Canberra! It's on the small side, but it's really manageable to do a full circuit in a reasonable amount of time because of that. And you can get fairly close to many of the animals, which really adds to the experience!
