  • The National Library really repays a visit. The Book Plate bistro, the book shop and the displays are tremendous - each in their own right. The bistro has undergone a face lift from a physical perspec...  more »
  • Joined the 2pm free tour of the library, our guide Shirley was very informative, explained a lot about the library gave us a much better appreciation of our national library
  • It looks like a great place for study, but as a visitor to Canberra the nicest part for me was the Cafe/bar. It was a lovely place to stop for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. I didn't try any food, ...  more »

  • Very good features: Spacious open computer rooms, secure lockers. The computers don't require a login and can be used all day! There's also standing desks, great for somebody who needs to wake up from sit-down reading from time to time. Haven't borrowed books here though, so no idea about that. Nice little cafe. And underground has a cosy reading area too. Overall: Pretty darn good!
  • Fabulous place to visit but even a more fabulous place to explore online. Thank you so much NLA for your wonderful resource TROVE. I couldn't do my research without it. This place is a true National treasure.
  • Great huge building. Interesting exhibition and collection which you should check on the website to book a ticket if necessary. Recently, they have Celestial Empire: Life in China exhibition which is worth to see.
  • Beautiful building. There are sometimes interesting exhibits on - check the website. There is also a huge range of books you can request (to read inside, you can't remove them from the library). You need to apply for a card to use this service.
  • Been here a couple of times for their changing exhibitions. Never been disappointed.
