Where to stay in Canberra

To stay comfortably near most main attractions in Canberra, choose a hotel in the city's central district. If you're a bit more budget-minded, look for a guesthouse in a neighborhood farther away from the city center. Residential areas offer more parking and quieter rooms at a fraction of the price charged by big-name centrally located hotels. Rental apartments spread across Canberra serve as another cozy option and offer lodgings ranging from simply furnished to luxurious five-star properties.

  • Wonderful park with lots of hidden and cosy areas. Great place for walks or bike rides. By the lake or near the ponds. great little "castle" where kids look after themselves and parents can just relax.
  • Great park by the lake! There are fun activities for kids and it is an all-round family friendly environment, good for walks or picnics.
  • Gorgeous sights. Looks especially beautiful on a clear, sunny day, but there's a quiet, broody charm to it on overcast days as well.
  • Beautiful gardens all year round and there are often waterbirds nesting in nerang pool. Kids enjoyed the castle themed playground but it is a little scary for patents (you lose line of sight). Could be more seating near the park.
  • Love running around the lake every day. Great scenery.
