  • What a fantastic place if you want to go for a run, bicycle ride or simply relax outdoors. Great for families.
  • Beautiful area for picnics with family & friends. Lots of open space plenty of room to not worry about others encroaching on your space
  • It's very fun for children and adults to spend time with family and have bbq
  • An extensive park along the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, with a walking path along the waters edge, and may often spot the occasional black swan, and with excellent views across the lake taking in Parliament House, the High Court building and the National Library. The annual Floriade display is held at the western end of the park, usually from the middle of September for one month. The park is also a short walk from the southern end of the city. Some parking is also available.
  • Beautiful scenery especially during autumn and spring, very nice place to visit in Canberra.

Where to stay in Canberra

To stay comfortably near most main attractions in Canberra, choose a hotel in the city's central district. If you're a bit more budget-minded, look for a guesthouse in a neighborhood farther away from the city center. Residential areas offer more parking and quieter rooms at a fraction of the price charged by big-name centrally located hotels. Rental apartments spread across Canberra serve as another cozy option and offer lodgings ranging from simply furnished to luxurious five-star properties.
