  • Lovely treed park with a lake, right next to the Lake trail and close to loads of attractions. Good rest areas, places for picnics, shady trees, play grounds for kids etc etc.
  • This is an excellent place to take a family. There is space for riding bikes and paths to walk along. Being by the lake it's pretty and picturesque.
  • The infrastucture a little aged now but it is still a beautifully designed park. You can take a walk around the lake or just have a look at the place. Lots of place to play games and relax. You will a...  more »

  • Floriade had awesome flowers like in Keukenhof, The Netherlands. Market has variety of colourful dresses I haven't seen elsewhere. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. We saw black swans and swamp hens with their chicks in the ponds.
  • Great open park with good trails and views of the Parliamentary Triangle. Good for joggers, bikes, dogs and field games all over the area. Parking can be in demand during business hours, but flows pretty well on the weekend.
  • Floriade is extrenely lovely, but the park is a great place to go any time of the year. Especially good for walking.
  • Nice and traditional with the floriade organised there.
  • Pretty much a must do if you are visiting Canberra. Lots of community events are held here around Stage 88 such as Floriade (big flower display garden every year in Sep/Oct). There is a information centre, parks, gardens, cafe, and the Captain Cook Fountain in the lake (google for running times). As you are pretty much in one corner of the parliamentary triangle, it is a really nice walk (or ride) around Lake Burley Griffin crossing at Commonwealth Ave bridge and Kings Ave bridge. It's a 5km loop past many of the major national sights - National Library, Art Gallery, views of Parliament House and the War Memorial.
