This is the market for fresh local produce and unusual edibles. Best by bike. No WiFi

Great local fresh food. Very friendly. Some bargains, but not necessarily the place to go for savings..

Love me my farmers market! Great fresh produce, coffee and food options. A lovely way to spend a Saturday morning.

I am fortunate enough to live near the farmer's market and make a regular habit of Saturday morning shopping there. I have gotten to know some of the sellers of fruits and vegetables, fish, mushrooms, flowers, and many specialist in organic products such as biodynamic beef. The popularity of the farmers market has grown enormously over the years, reflecting growing interest of Canberra residents in the quality and freshness of the food they eat.

Where to stay in Canberra

To stay comfortably near most main attractions in Canberra, choose a hotel in the city's central district. If you're a bit more budget-minded, look for a guesthouse in a neighborhood farther away from the city center. Residential areas offer more parking and quieter rooms at a fraction of the price charged by big-name centrally located hotels. Rental apartments spread across Canberra serve as another cozy option and offer lodgings ranging from simply furnished to luxurious five-star properties.
