Shopping Mall Shopping
Opened over 50 years ago, Canberra Centre, one of the city’s top malls, is a convenient stop for travelers in need of some last-minute shopping. Noted for being the very first shopping center in the area to include a parking lot, the mall was named an Australian Capital Historic Site in 1997. At this location you can visit over 300 shops, including a variety of specialty retailers. A number of popular eateries provide shoppers with a wide range of food options. After a busy day of shopping, visit the mall’s modern movie theater, featuring nine projection rooms and two premium lounges. • The Canberra Centre is well run, clean and warm and with all lights and fixtures functioning. Sprawling across several buildings, the touch screen guide maps with path display are vital to find specific stores. The variety of stores is excellent.
  • As far as shopping centres go it's pretty good. Parking, while not cheap, isn't outrageously expensive. There is a good range of stores as well as entertainment and food options. There is something here for the very young to the very old.
  • I love Canberra Outlet Centre but my husband doesn't. Apparently he can't retire because he has to earn the money for me to spend at COC. There is a great selection of shops here, a really good food court and some bargains to be found.
  • Its very good shopping center with all australias big brands. Very neat and clean. Love the place.
  • Great place to shop or dine. This place has just about everything you need except accomodation which you need to check out Riverview Homestead for that. Relax with nature in country comfort.

Where to stay in Canberra

To stay comfortably near most main attractions in Canberra, choose a hotel in the city's central district. If you're a bit more budget-minded, look for a guesthouse in a neighborhood farther away from the city center. Residential areas offer more parking and quieter rooms at a fraction of the price charged by big-name centrally located hotels. Rental apartments spread across Canberra serve as another cozy option and offer lodgings ranging from simply furnished to luxurious five-star properties.
